build a wall / build a fortress around my heart

What do you give 12 year old girls, when Barbie dolls become so passé, but they just haven't discovered what ever we did at that age? Remind me, what was it again?
Hmm. Transition was fun.
Not.

However, moving on to different things. I struck gold. Like, really.

I don't, for a fact, often give my 12 year old girl cousins Christmas presents cause I usually draw a blank when I try to think of what to give (Especially, since some are generally opposed to pink. And lavander. And anything that says, "I love flowers and hearts, and such." Teehee.).

But this year I made badges.
Yes, you heard me right. Badges.
And quite frankly if I ever saw these when I was 12, my mom would have had to drag me out screaming of the store if she didn't get them for me. Thankfully, I didn't spend much, considering mostly all the supplies were simply lying around the house. Just sitting there waiting to be useful.
And now, they are!

Here is one of my favorites:

Warpspeed. Don't you just love the word?
*mutters warpspeed over and over again*

Oh! Guess what Elle taught me to make?

I feel quite proud of myself.

and so here we go bluebird / back to the sky on your own

Mission: Tree Trimming
Treat: Christmas Coffee Float
Problem: Asleep

Okay, I know it isn't fair to get the treat without actually helping with the setting up and such, but I will say in my defense that no one woke me up. At least, not until the tree was fully set up.
And I don't actually regret missing out on that part either considering  the amount of dust that surfaces when it's time to put all of the tree's branches to rights.
I'll still get to put up the ornaments and such which is a relief.

Oh, coffee you know me so well.
Plus, you keep me well supplied with hyper-ness.

This wonderful drink contains some of the best things in life.
1. Coffee
2. Ice Cream
3. Whipped Cream
4. Stick-O

Yummy.

My day in a nutshell?
Early bird, sing, sing, sing, long ride home, hot as a hot day, grilled cheese sandwiches drowning in butter, getting ready, more car rides, meeting up with wonderful people, endless chatter of books, books, books!, home (again), sleep, dinner, and lots of Christmas spirit.

What are you doing to get ready for the Christmas season?
Twinkling fairy lights?
Martha Stewart tutorials?
Did you break out the miniature belen?

love that will not betray you, dismay or enslave you / it will set you free

Cheap Condensed Readers Digest books, pretty doilies, makeshift stamps, and a bottle Elmer's glue.
I think I've discovered one of the best things in life.
The happiness that comes whenever I'm covered head to toe in paint, I've got glued caked under my fingernails, cutting whatever piece of paper I can get my hands on, changing my typewriter ribbon, listening to the keys of the typewriter go tap, tap, tap. It's insane.
My entire family and I are preparing for a bazaar and I swear this is going down as one of the best weeks this past few months. The rest have just been sort of blaaah.
Here are a couple of picture to show why I'm so darn happy:

Also, here is picture of Elle (sister of awesome) and I.
